Book Summary: The Lotus Shoes by Jane Yang is a historical fiction novel set in 1800s China, following the intertwined lives of two young women, Little Flower and Linjing, as they navigate societal expectations, class divides, and personal struggles, exploring themes of sisterhood, betrayal, and resilience through their complex relationship. The story centers on Little Flower, a servant with bound feet and embroidery talent, and Linjing, the wealthy daughter who resents her, as their fates become entangled through family scandal and their shared journey in a patriarchal society.

February's Sips & Stories Book Club will be meeting Tuesday February 24th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss "The Lotus Shoes" by Jane Yang. The cost to participate in the Sips & Stories Book club is $20 which covers the cost of the book and refreshments that are provided.
